Thank you for visiting Riverside furniture online or at our retail shop in Tiverton. Please read carefully our terms and conditions as you agree to be bound by them when making a purchase.

 
 

1. Description of products:

 

We make every effort to describe the products offered for sale as accurately as possible. However, we reserve the right to add, remove or amend products without notice.

You should be aware that all sizes are approximate and slight variations may occur due to manufacturing tolerances.

Wood will exhibit variations in colour, grain pattern and tone within individual pieces and between items of furniture within the same range. This is not a fault but a natural characteristic of the material.

Fabric colour can vary on seat pads, stool upholstery and bed and mattress coverings and a description of colour is a guide only. Images on this web site again are a guide only to product colour or tone and may appear different in varying conditions or light sources. This is not deemed a fault and any returns due to perceived colour variations are done so at the customers expense if notification is received in writing within 14 days.

 

2. Payment of orders:

 

Full payment is required at the time the order is placed. This constitutes a contract between you the customer and us, Riverside furniture the retailer. At the checkout  you will be taken to the secure hosting payment service provider to enter your payment card details. Riverside furniture will review your order to ensure correct details and delivery instructions. If there is any query we will contact you.

Bespoke orders require a 25% deposit on orders placed, the balance due prior to delivery.

 

3. Cancellation:

 

You the buyer may cancel your order at any time within 7 days of placement of order without charge unless the goods have already been despatched, in which case you will be liable for delivery and collection costs.

The goods must be in there original packaging and be in perfect condition. A refund will only be given once the goods have been returned and inspected by us.

Due to hygiene aspects associated with some items ( e.g. mattresses ) we reserve the right to reject cancellation if these items have been used.. This does not apply if the product is deemed faulty.

Following collection or return if the goods are found to be damaged or not in A1 perfect resalable condition, Riverside furniture will seek to recover the cost of remedying the damage from the buyer.

Bespoke or made to measure orders cannot be cancelled once the order has been accepted by Riverside furniture. Once order finalised and processed the 25% deposit is non refundable.

 

 

 

4. Product guarantee:

 

All furniture form Riverside furniture comes with a 12 month guarantee from manufacturing defects from the day of delivery. The goods will be fit for purpose for which they are designed and supplied. Products will comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements for selling the goods in the United Kingdom.

Guarantee covers normal domestic home use only and does not apply to defects in the goods arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, accident, negligence by you, commercial use or any alteration or repair to the goods you carry out.

If you inform us that the goods have breached the guarantee , we will arrange an inspection to verify this or if photographic evidence can be sent in evidence. If the inspection or photographic evidence finds that the goods have not breached the guarantee we will decline any further action and provide full details of the reasons for this decision.

In the rare event of the goods breaching the guarantee we will follow a fair and fast process by repairing or replacing free of charge. Alternatively we may, if we choose, provide a full refund of the price paid by you for the goods.

Ex –display or stock items are purchased as seen and the price will reflect they may have sustained fair wear and tear and therefore cannot be returned or refunded unless faulty. It is your responsibility to check that ex-display items are in a satisfactory condition when placing your order and you must arrange collection within reasonable time. ( usually 7 days )

 If an ex-display items is deemed to have breached the guarantee we will choose to repair the product or refund the price paid. Ex display items cannot b replaced with a full price item.

 

5. Replacement of damaged goods:

 

Goods damaged on arrival with the customer will be replaced at no additional cost. It is in the customer’s own interest to unwrap and fully inspect all furniture at the time of arrival. All deliveries must be signed for  by the customer as free from defects or damage.

 

6. Mattress Care:

 

Over time there will be softening/ settlement and slight compression of the mattress in areas under most body weight. This is quite normal and should not cause concern.

To extend the life of the mattress rotate by 180 degrees after 3 weeks, then turn over after a further 3 weeks. Repeat this process for the initial 12 weeks and then turn over every 3 months throughout the lifetime of the mattress.

If a mattress only is purchased we take no responsibility of the condition of the purchasers supporting base and any related issues this may cause to the supplied mattress. Please refer to our mattress care guide.

 

 

 

 

7. Delivery:

 

All products except bespoke orders will normally be delivered to the customer within 4 – 8 weeks. All delivery  estimations are anticipated times and therefore act as a guide only.

Goods delivered by us will be placed in a room of your choosing provided that reasonable access is available. It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the furniture they purchase will pass through doorways, staircases, halls and rooms to the place of their choosing. In the event of restricted access the delivery team will leave the item at the nearest convenient point.

It is not the responsibility of Riverside furniture to unpack and assemble furniture. This service can be purchased at an additional cost. Quite often larger items such as beds, wardrobes and tables are often supplied as separate sections ready for assembly on site, help with assembly can be discussed.

If , as a result of circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to complete delivery of the goods, we will be entitled to cancel the order and will provide you with a full refund.

We will notify you in writing or verbally once the goods are ready for delivery or collection. If you fail to collect or take delivery within 28 days we will charge a storage cost and administration fee.

If you fail to pay the full price or take delivery or collect within 28 days we will be entitled to cancel your order and you must pay all amounts stated plus our administration cost of 10% of the cost of goods.

 

7. Delivery charges:

 

Delivery charges are determined dependant on location and the distance from our Tiverton store and workshops. This will be calculated at time of order placed and all orders are checked for the correct delivery town. For areas beyond the designated towns please call us for a price.

 

8. Bespoke orders:

 

All orders placed will detail every aspect of design, size and finish in writing and the deposit placed will constitute a contractual obligation between both parties.

All bespoke orders carry a 25% deposit and the balance on completion prior to delivery. These items are unique and therefore cannot easily be offered for resale. Cancellation of orders prior to manufacture will incur a charge to the value of deposit placed. Cancellation after manufacture or whilst in the process of manufacture will incur full cost charges unless design, sizes or finish are proven as not as agreed.

 

9.Variation of terms & conditions:

 

Riverside furniture reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time and without notice. You will automatically be bound by these amendments when  you use the site.
